A special meeting, is so called because it falls outside of the regularly scheduled meetings. We have recently shifted to a published calendar of meetings, so this one, falling outside of that, despite being a normal Board meeting in content and conduct, is classed as special.
There are a number of items that have arisen, all of which require a Board discussion and some, a decision (vote). We were initially going to use the August 30th meeting, but once this agenda grew, it was determined that the meeting duration would be too long and required it's own sitting.
