Challenges and Communications

Dear Neighbors,

We want to take a moment to connect with you, acknowledge the challenges of the past few weeks, and share some updates about what lies ahead. As your Board, we are committed to the well-being of our community, and while we know things haven’t gone as smoothly as we had hoped, we are here, working hard to keep Fairway Springs on track.

Call for Volunteers: Join the Board of Directors

We are looking for dedicated homeowners to serve on the Board of Directors. This is an opportunity to help shape the future of Fairway Springs and make a difference in our community. If you’re interested, please use either the pdf form or the online application to express your interest to serve. Your involvement would mean the world to us!

As you may be aware, there have been a number of resignations and as of now 4 board seats are open to be filled.

Acknowledging the Transition Challenges and Coupon Issues

On behalf of the Board, we want to apologize for the bumpy transition to Greenacre Property Management. Despite everyone’s best efforts, we recognize that many homeowners did not receive their payment coupons on time. This has caused understandable frustration, and for that, we sincerely apologize.

The payment coupons were mailed on September 13, 2024, and 201 payments have been recorded so far, with the first arriving on September 19, 2024. While we can’t control delays caused by USPS, we know this situation has created unnecessary stress.

Understanding Late Fees and Payment Guidelines

We’d like to reassure homeowners that no late fees will apply until November 1, 2024, as outlined in our community documents. However, the current Board members will be voting on a motion to extend that late fee delay by 30 days to ensure that everyone has sufficient time to pay prior to late fees being applied. After that, interest may accrue at a rate of 18% per year for any overdue balances.

It’s important to note that payments should be sent directly to the association bank address provided on the coupon, or to the corporate office. To avoid liability, Greenacre staff and managers cannot collect payments from homeowners directly.

Official Communication Channels

We want to remind you that this Fairway Springs website blog and email notifications from Greenacre and are our official sources of information. While we don’t engage in discussions on social media platforms, we use those channels to post links to important updates on our blog.

To stay informed, please make sure you are subscribed to receive emails and check the blog regularly. We will also continue to share links to blog posts on Facebook and Nextdoor, so you can stay connected however you prefer.

Next Board Meeting: The next Board meeting will be held at 6.30pm, this coming Wednesday, 30th October and the agenda will be:

  1. The reorganization of the Board

  2. The creation of an investigation into the debris collection issue and

  3. The creation of a review and recommendations committee for the first 90 days of the Greenacre partnership

Moving Forward with Transparency and Collaboration

We know the last few weeks have been tough, and the Board and Greenacre have not met the expectations you rightfully have of us. But we are here, fully committed to serving the community. Through improved communication with you and improved collaboration with Greenacre, we aim to prevent future missteps.

We are grateful for your patience and understanding as we navigate these challenges. With your support, we can rebuild trust and work together to make Fairway Springs the best it can be.

Thank you for being part of this wonderful community! Jen, Carol, Jacob, Richard & Dana

We never received payment coupons. How do we pay our dues?

Thank you for this, it's the kind of communication we need. We will work to rearrange our schedule and be at the meeting.
